AWS Cloud Platform Engineer – Azure & Automation

Client : Big Five Bank.

Terms : Contract through October 2026.

Location : Hybrid twice a month is preferred with an office in Downtown Toronto; however, open to remote for the right candidate with EST working hours.

Project Overview

The Bank is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support the bank’s cloud strategy, which is focused on innovation and leveraging rapidly emerging cloud‑native services.

Responsibilities

Support the Cloud Platform strategy and implementation.

Design, implement and integrate the bank’s Cloud Platform, core, and shared services.

Design, implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity and intra‑cloud networking.

Develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security.

Ensure all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance standards and controls.

Be the major contributor to IaC modules : develop new modules and maintain existing modules.

Design and plan enterprise‑scale cloud environments including application dependencies, data storage and flow, network connectivity and overall cloud hosting.

Develop and maintain up‑to‑date architectural templates and build operational documentation of the technical environment.

Continuously enhance the capability, security, and experience of the enterprise Hybrid cloud.

Technical Requirements

Extensive experience in Typescript, NodeJS, and Python.

Proficiency with AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI / CD tools.

Experience with Open Policy Agent / Policy as Code.

Container orchestration : EKS, Kubernetes, ECS, Docker.

Azure DevOps pipeline design and architecture.

GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins expertise.

Agile framework experience.

Linux system skills.

Extensive cloud platform experience and certifications in AWS and / or Azure.

Experience with DynamoDB, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, Cognito, API Gateway, IAM, Azure DevOps, WebApp, AKS, ACI, Key Vault, SQL MI.
