Overview
Our organization is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This intermediate-level position plays a crucial role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in network administration, including hands-on experience with LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, network security, cloud and a passion for keeping up with the latest developments in the field.
Role Description
As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse set of technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of our network systems.
You Have
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in network administration, with a focus on enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies and implementation
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies (BGP, OSPF, TCP / IP, VLANs, LACP, NAT, VPNs, etc.)
- Solid understanding of different physical network solutions (copper, fiber, radio, cellular, satellite, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, IPS / IDS, WAF and SASE
- Familiarity with zero-trust principles and implementation in network environments
- Experience with wireless network technologies and best practices
- Knowledge of load balancing concepts and technologies
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working as a team player

Network Infrastructure Management : Manage and maintain core and site network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and other network devices; design, implement, and optimize network topologies to meet organizational needs; manage and optimize SD-WAN infrastructure; troubleshoot complex network issues and implement solutions to ensure network availability and optimal performance; develop, implement and maintain network standards.Wireless Network Administration : Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our WiFi infrastructure; conduct site surveys and implement changes to improve wireless coverage and performance.Network Security : Manage and configure firewalls, including Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) advanced features; implement and maintain Zero-Trust Infrastructure, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions; configure and manage remote access technologies to ensure secure connectivity for remote workers.Load Balancing and Traffic Management : Configure and maintain load balancers to optimize application performance and availability; implement traffic management policies to ensure efficient use of network resources.Monitoring and Maintenance : Implement and manage performance and health monitoring solutions for network devices and services; develop and execute network device patch management processes to maintain security and stability; conduct regular network audits and implement improvements based on findings.Documentation and Process Improvement : Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, topologies, and processes; contribute to the development and refinement of network-related policies and procedures.Why Choose West Fraser?
The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
