ROLE SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative and innovative not-for-profit organization with a focus on supporting the needs of higher education and research institutions. As the Interim Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing financial reporting, full cycle accounting, and supporting process and systems implementation.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Interim Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily accounting, financial reporting and analysis for the company with a focus on ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will work closely with other departments to develop and monitor budgets, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ASNPO) and improve internal controls and processes. This role also involves overseeing accounting entries, managing cash flow, and supporting various financial projects.

SUCCESS CRITERIA & DELIVERABLES

  • 30 days - Support the month end close and financial reporting activities
  • 60 days - Manage Grant reporting and submitting expense reports bi-weekly
  • 90 days+ - Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and the finance team
  • Ongoing - Build strong understanding of systems and processes, including supporting the implementation of Tipalti
  • WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting and full cycle accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
  • Experience with Quickbooks and AP automation systems
  • Knowledge of private reporting (ASNPO) and technical accounting research
  • Understanding of accounting policies and procedures
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs
