Purpose
As an R&D Scientist with Actlabs, you will use your education, experience, logic, and creativity to help Actlabs continually improve quality, turnaround time, and cost of sample analysis with an eye on driving additional value to our clients.
Working closely with R&D staff and production personnel, you will help to formulate R&D strategy and priorities, implement, and manage R&D projects, helping to drive continual improvement in all our processes.
About You :
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Geochemistry and minimum of 5 years of R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation, or B.Sc. and minimum of 10 years of progressive R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation
- Five years progressive R&D experience
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Common sense, innovative, and proactive
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- R&D project management experience
- Ability to work with little supervision and ability to supervise others
- Meticulous work ethic, with excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing demands of short- and long-term projects
- Ability to produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines
- Highly motivated and adaptable
- Some domestic travel required
Responsibilities
Perform research and development so as to improve quality, turnaround time and costs of Actlabs’ methods and processesResearch and development of new scientific processes, author SOPs for those processes, execute method validation; and author validation reportFormulate research strategy on R&D projects and oversee technicians in the execution of the experimentsTechnical improvement of current scientific processes and subsequent updating of SOPs and validationProvide technical training and guidance to technicians and managers with related competence testingInterface between QA and Operations : Oversee root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action of data analyst and process ownersProvide technical support to Actlabs’ network of laboratories (domestic and international)Evaluate the adequacy of current and new equipmentAnalyze data and generate final reports for non-routine projects to be issued to clients.Prepare and follow quality control procedures to meet SCC accreditation requirements under ISO / IEC 17025 and SCC RGsMaintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment in accordance with policies and proceduresExperience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)Attending domestic and international conferences and trade showsOther tasks as appropriate for an R&D ScientistJob Type :
