The Site Superintendent is responsible for managing daily on-site activity of one large project, ensuring it is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. The Site Superintendent ensures adequate manpower is available for tasks, scheduling and directing the work of all subcontractors, consultants and vendors to meet or exceed our clients’ expectations of quality, safety and delivery. This individual will work closely with the Project Managers on the construction of both an industrial warehouse, as well as a ground-up, multi-residential project.

Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
- Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, potential construction problems
- Oversee day-to-day field activities inspecting work performed by employees, other contractors and sub-contractors displaying a high level of honesty and professionalism
- Contract, schedule and supervise the activities of all subcontractors and tradespeople
- Maintain good working relationships with the clients, consultants, subtrades and regulatory authorities
- Partner with the Project Manager to discuss errors, discrepancies or omissions contained within the Consultant’s design drawings
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution
- Maintain strict build-out construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding work performed
- Track supply inventory and materials to guard against loss and to ensure that vital materials are ordered and delivered to meet schedule
- Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required
- Retains 247 ownership for site in its entirety ensuring its security and safety regardless of time of day / night and the day of the week
- Expected to perform physical labour from time to time, as necessary, to complete work efficiently and economically
- Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control
- Control and monitor labour, material and equipment expenses
- Assemble the job site office and equipment requirements
- Lead job site meetings
- Conduct employee orientations and safety meetings
- Process time sheets, purchase orders, directives and other documentation as necessary
- Maintain a safe, organized and clean job site compliant with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Construction Projects
- Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists
- Provide other duties as requested and required
Qualifications
