The Support Clerk, Culinary Programs provides support to all programs in the Culinary

Department.

The Clerk undertakes duties related to timely product procurement, inventory and

storage of product, preparation of menu boards and items, preparation of various

promotional materials, responsible for cashier duties, food service area maintenance,

cafeteria, and dining room operations.

The Support Clerk, Culinary Programs, provides ongoing support to culinary staff and

students, and works under the daily guidance and direction of the culinary instructors.

Qualifications

  • High School completion and cashier certificate
  • Three (3) years related experience.
  • Retail / customer service training and / or experience.
  • Food Safe Level 1 required.
  • Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License and own (or have access to) a vehicle.
  • WHMIS certification required.
  • Must possess practical fire training / extinguisher knowledge.
  • Physical fitness sufficient for lifting product up to 25 kg.
  • Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and have good organization, able to prioritize tasks and efficiently accomplish goals and objectives with minimum supervision.
  • Moderate computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience dealing with suppliers, ability to recognise and avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills essentials.
