Job description

Key Responsibilities :

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising,

labor, and other operational processes to company standards.

  • Ensure all new department employees receive proper training and supervision.
  • Effectively manage employees by efficiently scheduling personnel to meet the needs of the department
  • based on business volume and workloads.

  • Ensures that the department is ready for business at all times and is in compliance with all Health &
  • Product Standards.

  • Serve customers, weigh, wrap and affix price labels to products.
  • Advise customers regarding the content and types of products available.
  • Replenish supplies and rotate products in the display counter.
  • Performs other tasks as required by management to meet business needs.
  • Job Requirements : Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years grocery / supermarket experience in a deli environment, preferably in a supervisory or
  • assistant supervisory role.

  • Post-secondary education and / or experience in merchandising and / or business management is considered an
  • asset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building customer loyalty.
  • Strong motivational, leadership skills & organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to operate in changing temperatures on a regular basis.
  • Need be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Working Conditions

  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend, squat, and lift occasionally.
  • Ability to use sharp tools (e.g. knives) and meat slicing machines.
