Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Designer. Reporting to the Department Manager, Civil, Structural & Architectural, this position is located at our #Vancouver or #Saskatoon, SK offices. In this key role, you will be responsible for the delivery of civil design and drafting services across a wide variety of industrial and mining projects. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and self-motivated professional with in-depth experience developing civil and infrastructure construction design drawings. - Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market. Salary range for this position is CAD $109,000 - $150,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Expected :
Minimum 10 years of relevant design experience relating to mining, industrial facilities and infrastructureDiploma in Civil Engineering Design TechnologyKnowledge of standard drawings for mining and transportation infrastructure projects including site development, roadways, railways, buried and overland piping, water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations, storm drainage, and retention / sediment control pondsExperience in using AutoCAD Civil 3D design / drafting softwareUnderstanding various coordinate systems (., UTM vs. mine / ground coordinate system) and geodetic elevation referencesExperience with processing and modifying the topographic data for the project needs, setting up the project survey reference points, and establishing the coordinate systems for the projectsDrafting and design experience within a consulting engineering environmentFamiliarity with storm water management systems including storm sewer design, runoff calculations, the sizing of ditches, culverts, and ponds, and the design of sediment control facilitiesProficiency in the operation of GIS-based applications would be an advantageAbility to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasksExcellent organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skillsAbility to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environmentAuthorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is requiredundefined
