Job description

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Specialist to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees by developing, implementing, and monitoring occupational health and safety (OHS) programs. This role involves identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a culture of safety. The position is full-time and based in Dartmouth, with occasional travel to other facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety (OHS) programs.

Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control measures.

Provide training and educational materials to promote safety awareness.

Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with OHS regulations and environmental standards.

Perform regular safety inspections and address potential hazards.

Manage specialized programs, including ergonomics, hearing conservation, and heat stress.

Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and training sessions.

Foster a culture of safety through communication and collaboration with teams.

Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and enhancing OHS initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of OHS / EHS experience in logistics, auto / manufacturing. industrial, pharmaceutical
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Well versed with Labor laws, proceedings, etc
