Duties
- Edit requisitions and confer with requisitioners and department personnel regarding requirements, specifications, quantity and quality of goods and delivery
- Run and execute replenishment orders and manage the distribution, receipt, location and issue of those items
- Coordinate with maintenance, mill personnel and suppliers to develop alternate sources, ensuring continuity of supply and timely delivery of stores inventory stock
- Coordinate with Melt Shop personnel the purchase of refractory materials and consumables
- Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers
- Evaluate suppliers through methods, such as supplier visitations, various objective performance measurements, including on-time delivery, service and price
- Provide direction, support and oversee the receipt of goods and communication of receiving activities as required
- Responsible for training, evaluation, discipline, motivation and safety of stores personnel
- Assume responsibility for other purchasing / stores related tasks as required and directed by departmental and Gerdau needs
Our Successful Candidate Will Have
A four year degree plus three - five years of applicable experience OR equivalent combination of training and experience in purchasing and stored products including supervising othersPossesses above average use of computer skills and software knowledge in SAP, Outlook, Excel and WordExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPrevious work experience in an industrial environment will be considered an assetBenefits
