About the Job :

The Registered Nurse :

• Provides nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees / teams and approved research projects as assigned

This newly-created ICU position has the advantage of a predictable, consistent schedule combined with the added work-life balance of having every other weekend off.

Shift of work will be nights, with shift times of 19 : 30 to 07 : 45. On occasion, night shifts may be changed to days shifts (07 : 30 to 19 : 45) depending on the staffing requirements of the unit.

About this location / unit :

Kelowna General Hospital’s (KGH) Multi-System ICU department consists of 19 patient care beds. RNs work 11.25 hour shifts and there are 14 on day shift and 13 on night shift.
