Fuel Director

Department : Fuel Operations

Location : Calgary, AB (#400, 229 - 33rd Street NE, T2A 4Y6)

Hybrid work : 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely

Type of employment : Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Excited to embark on a journey with us? Here's a breakdown of the key responsibilities in this role :

Accountable for establishing and achieving fuel margin plan targets, grow the customer base and develop pricing strategies.

Oversee retail pricing strategies and execution to insure a consistent and disciplined application of prices at site / product level.

Maintain highest speed to market obtainable and manages execution as market may demand.

Develop & manage all fuel strategies (site, market, product, brand & division) including supply relationships, Circle K’s Gas and major brand marketing and loyalty programs.

Manage strategy on a site-by-site basis to ensure that individual and overall price position and division, product & brand strategies are aligned.

Ensure, daily, that each site is priced for its optimal performance.

Hire, develop, and train fuel team to advance internally and fosters a learning environment with high performance expectations.

Coordinate fuels objectives with other department initiatives to optimize performance of fuel sites.

Anticipate opportunities to guide pricing and market strategies to increase fuel margin daily.

Control Fuel Department overheads to budgeted levels.

Recommend capital improvements to improve fuels contribution to store profitability.

Develop, implements, and oversees initiatives related to payment systems including fleet card sales and administration.

Responsible for day-to-day supply management.

Manage SIR program.

Oversee the divisions car wash operation and market strategies to maximize profitability.

Must work in collaboration with all, including operations team, service groups and global groups.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for :

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, marketing, sciences, environmental studies or engineering. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.

Experience :

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and skills :

Candidate must demonstrate strengths in fuel management, pricing, pricing models, wholesale & retail contracts, contract negotiation, payment systems, marketing, and products distribution.

Candidate must possess advanced managerial and leadership skills and have the strength to manage the product, price position and TSSA compliance.

Must be very analytical and the primary driver of all fuel related projects.

Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office products and aptitude to develop and understand other software tools.

A current valid driver’s license with a clean abstract is required to operate company vehicle.

Ability to travel as required up to 30%.
