This exciting opportunity is located in the vibrant city of Vaughan, Ontario, offering a dynamic in-office work environment where collaboration and team engagement are at the forefront.

As the Accounting Manager, your daily responsibilities may include the following:

• Monthly and quarterly reporting activities
• Preparation of divisional and project reporting, working with the divisional leaders and Project Managers to develop budgets for the year and report against the budget
• Preparation of project cash flow projections
• Collaboration with divisional accounting team on project reports and divisional reporting
• Working with leadership to develop financing structures for new projects
• Maintaining lending and project relationships
• Monitoring adherence to lending commitments
• Preparing all Year End Financial Statements for Corporate Controller to finalize
• Liaising with Corporate Controller for tax projection, working paper packages, and CRA matters
• Daily management of project cash flow and assistance with corporate cash flow
• Preparation/Review of monthly HST reports
• Processing and input of monthly allocations from Corporate Controller
• Liaising with Newstar for system maintenance as required
• Working with the Corporate Controller to coordinate all insurance claims
• Various cost analysis and trend analysis reports
• Assisting in external audit and compilation of audit back up
• Updating resource management forecast based on Project schedule and assumptions
• Assisting in annual divisional budget preparation
• Assisting in revision and creation of corporate templates
• Participation in regular meetings with divisional leadership in establishing best practices for the organization

You will make an ideal fit as our next Accounting Manager if you are able to demonstrate the following on your resume:

• Education
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) designation is required

• Experience
  • 5 years of relevant accounting experience specifically within the Ontario construction or real estate development industry
  • Solid understanding of industry specific accounting practices, project accounting, and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with joint venture and limited partnership accounting
  • Constellation Homebuilder Newstar Suiteexperience is required
    
    

• Skills
  • Experience with software such Procore
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
  • SQL database knowledge is an asset
