NOTE: This is a short-term casual position hours will be 11:00 AM-6:00PM Monday -Friday.

Position Summary

The Bow Valley College Esports Arena is seeking a friendly organized and tech-savvy Receptionist to join our dynamic team. As the first point of contact for students staff and visitors the Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. Primary responsibilities will include front desk operations assisting with event coordination and providing support to the faculty staff and participants.

Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• 
  Greets and assists students staff and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• 
  Manages front desk operations including answering phone calls responding to emails and handling inquiries.
• 
  Maintains an organized and clean reception area.
• 
  Coordinates check-ins and registrations for events tournaments and practice sessions.
• 
  Handles administrative tasks such as data entry filing and inventory management.
• 
  Monitors and administers arena policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• 
  Performs other duties in related area as assigned by the Manager Digital Entertainment Nexus.

Required qualifications:

• 
  1 year of related experience.
• 
  High school diploma
• 
  Excellent customer service communication and interpersonal skills.
• 
  Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• 
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook).
  
• 
  Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
• 
  Police information check including a vulnerable sector

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Familiarity with esports and gaming culture is highly desirable.
  
• Comfortable with current and emerging technologies.

If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS WES or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.

This opening is a casual AUPE position. Please note all successful candidates will be required to provide copies of government issued identification and proof of educational qualifications upon hire and may be required to provide an enhanced police information check.
