Role Description :  The Receiving Associate has a key role in ensuring that products are received, verified, stored, and transported to the sales floor or the warehouse in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. Associates are also responsible for keeping the receiving bay neat, tidy, well-maintained, and in compliance with all health and safety regulations. This position is highly physical and includes a lot of lifting and carrying, exposure to loud noises, and the use of technology and machinery. Starting wage range :  $17.40 - $18.75

Responsibilities & Tasks :

  • Provides the team with the necessary support to enhance the customer experience within the store through :
  • Maintaining housekeeping disciplines in the warehouse in order to facilitate location of products by all staff.
  • Delivering and assembling merchandise as required.
  • Receives, scans, verifies, and stores all incoming and overstock products according to established procedures and policies.
  • Ships returns and completes paperwork.
  • Is responsible for garbage disposal, cardboard recycling, and the disposal of broken products in accordance with store policy.
  • Repairs broken packages as needed.
  • Reports damaged goods to Management.
  • Operates computer and scanning tools and enters all relevant coding in Canadian Tire systems.
  • Is responsible for the safe operation of all warehouse equipment (forklift, skyjack etc.).
  • Certifications in forklifts, power jacks, Transportation of Dangerous Goods are all considered assets.
  • Computer literacy (data entry, scanning, etc.) is an asset
  • Experience working as a retail shipper / receiver would be highly desirable
  • Handles dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures.
