Eastern Townships School Board seeks a Guidance Counsellor to support students in educational and career planning at Campus Brome-Missisquoi, Vocational training, Cowansville, Quebec.

Workload : 20% (7 hours per week)

Status : Replacement until June 30, 2026

Salary (prorated to workload) : CA$55,282.00 / yr - CA$97,963.00 / yr

Supervisor : Director of Complementary Services

Role Overview

Under the direction of the director, the Guidance Counsellor provides assistance to students on choosing their educational profile and career orientation through group and individual counseling sessions, and reviews academic histories to advise on educational and career paths.

Responsibilities include collaborating in the organization of school-to-work activities, study sessions, and promoting both in-school and external school activities related to career orientation. The counsellor also supports students in resolving learning and social challenges, including aptitude, interests, motivation, and personality evaluations to develop individual action plans. Collaboration with school personnel, parents, teaching institutions, the business world, and government agencies is essential.

Qualifications

Desired profile :

Member of the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec.

Other Requirements

• Demonstrate ability to work in French and English
• Well organized and able to prioritize
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships with students
