Are you a warm, compassionate, and playful individual with a big heart? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic live-out nanny to join our family and care for our delightful and inquisitive toddler boy.About Our Little One : Our son is an energetic, bright and incredibly loving 1.5 year old with a boundless curiosity about the world around him. He thrives on exploration, imaginative play, and spending time outdoors. He loves being involved with what the adults are doing including helping meal prep, "washing" the floors, and gardening. About Us : We are a family that values kindness, connection, and a nurturing environment. We believe in the power of play and the importance of fostering a child's natural curiosity. While not required, we are particularly drawn to individuals who understand and appreciate the principles of child-led play and the value of natural environments, similar to the Waldorf approach. We are screen free, and we've discovered that he finds immense joy and engagement in everyday activities, such as playing with running water at the kitchen sink. We value open communication and a collaborative relationship with our nanny, and while we would have a regular schedule planned, we have the ability to be very flexible with hours should you need it. We also have a very sweet, shy dog who prefers to sleep and generally keeps to himself, so interaction will be minimal. We live in an amazing walkable neighbourhood with plenty of outdoor playgrounds, beaches, and parks to spend time in, making it a wonderful place for your workdays.About Our Home : Our home is a warm and cozy space where you will have full use of the entire house during your working hours. This includes a large deck and a spacious backyard with plenty to explore, such as a garden, a fire pit, and fruit trees, providing ample opportunities for outdoor play and exploration with our son.Your Responsibilities Will Include : Providing loving, attentive, and safe care for our toddler boy.Engaging in age-appropriate activities that promote his development, including outdoor play, imaginative games, and creative exploration.Creating a stimulating and nurturing environment that encourages creativity, curiosity and learning.Preparing healthy and delicious meals and snacks for our son (he loves to help cook!)Following a consistent daily routine that provides structure and predictability.Potentially taking him on outings to parks, beaches, playgroups, and other age-appropriate activities.We Are Looking For Someone Who : Is genuinely passionate about working with young toddlers.Possesses a warm, patient, and empathetic demeanor.Has experience in childcare and an understanding of child development.Is reliable, punctual, and responsible.Appreciates the outdoors and encourages nature exploration.Is comfortable with simple vegetarian or pescatarian meal preparation for a toddler.Is First aid and CPR certified (or willing to become certified).Has reliable transportation.Is a non smoker.Bonus Points If You : Have experience or familiarity with Waldorf education principles.Enjoy incorporating natural materials and sensory play into activities.Have a love for music, stories, and creative expression.Enjoy gardening and the great outdoors that the Okanagan offers!Details : Live-out position.3 days a week, 5 hours per day (ie : M / W / F, 9am-2pm)Located in Oyama, BC$25-$30 / hour, pay dependent on experience / qualificationsStart date May 1, 2025Are you ready to embark on a joyful adventure with our curious little explorer?
