Job description

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed permanent full time Maintenance Worker.

In accordance with established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor (or designate), the Maintenance Worker V performs trades duties approaching the journeyman level in one or a variety of trades areas such as electrical, plumbing and painting in compliance with applicable codes and regulations and may supervise Maintenance Workers and other designated staff.

Position requires incumbent to work at Seven Sisters Mental Health Unit and Birchwood Place Transition Housing.

Position requires incumbent to assume 24 / 7 on call duties as part of a shared rotation.

Position may require incumbent to work at alternate sites such as Terraceview Lodge, Stewart Health Centre.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Monday to Friday, 08 : 00 to 16 : 00

Ksyen Regional Hospital

The new Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, the facility features 82 beds, private rooms, and is a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.

Terrace The thriving community of Terrace is northern living at its best. Snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes and streams all add to the beauty of this community. The main industries in Terrace are communications, transportation and natural resources. The population is approximately 12,700.     Qualfications

  • Grade 10, plus four (4) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.

  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
