Utilities Kingston is a unique multi-utility provider located in Kingston, Ontario. Founded in 2000, it was created through the amalgamation of the Kingston Public Utilities Commission and the Kingston Municipal Utilities, bringing together a range of utility services under one roof.
This strategic integration remains the only model of its kind in Canada and aims to improve operational efficiencies and provide enhanced customer service to residents and business in Kingston.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director of Energy Services is responsible for leading and setting expectations for the teams delivering electrical, natural gas, metering, traffic and street lighting, engineering, and operational services.
They will also promote and advance the Mission and Vision of Utilities Kingston, the Strategic Plan, and the culture of the organization.
The ideal candidate is someone with planning and operational leadership experience, ideally in a unionized environment. They have technical expertise in engineering projects, knowledge of industrial trades and construction management, and have supported strategy development, organizational change, and asset management.
They are excited about electrification and energy transition as well as technology modernization in a utility context.
As the successful candidate, you understand coordinating long-term capital planning and fostering innovation and leadership development.
You bring strong leadership and problem-solving skills, are a strategic thinker and planner, and an effective communicator.
