Objective: The Production Supervisor (Cutting Department) is a leader that works with our manufacturing team that coordinates and constructs our cabinetry and accessory items while ensuring high quality standards are met. This role involves leading and mentoring Team Leads, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals. This is a full-time, permanent position that runs from Monday to Thursday, from 5:00am until 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the timely production of cabinets and ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high quality standards.
- Oversee the operation of various types of CNC machinery (Holzma, edge bander etc).
- Create progress reports and daily updates.
- Identify defects or process issues and implement corrective actions to maintain product excellence.
- Manage and supervise manufacturing team members including training, performance appraisals, vacation management and corrective action and provide feedback to improve efficiency and skill development.
- Plan and oversee overtime shifts when required.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure proper inventory of cutting materials and supplies.
- Collaborate with maintenance team to ensure equipment is functioning properly and address any technical issues.
- Lead efforts towards continuous improvement activities that drive positive measurable results for the organization.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take direction and execute tasks on time while ensuring quality of work.
- Strong leadership skills with a safety-conscious attitude.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Knowledge of the construction/building/cabinet industry (considered an asset).
