The role we are offering you :
As a CF-18 Field Service Representative (FSR) at National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) in Gatineau, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of CF-18 operations. Are you ready to :
Provide technical advice to NDHQ, maintenance and operator communities with respect to inspections of, deficiencies in, changes / modifications of and repair procedures for the aircraft avionics test equipment and Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment (AMSE)
Coordinate and monitor activities related to Discrepancy Reports and Engineering Dispositions (DRED) and technical investigations in support of Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), modifications and associated validation / verification efforts
Attend technical review meetings, maintenance management meetings, and / or accompany CF-18 engineering staff to contractor and Department of National Defence (DND) facilities to provide technical advice
Assist in the drafting of engineering Task Directives, Statements of Requirements (SOR), and / or Statements of Work (SOW)
Review and provide recommendations with regards to technical documentation received from field units, contractors and / or foreign military forces including, but not limited to : Drawings, Technical Reports, Modifications, ECPs, Request for Deviations (RFD), Request for Waivers (RFW), and Specification Change Notices (SCN)
Provide technical analysis and advise in support of Director of Flight Safety (DFS) investigations
Conduct review and analysis of equipment, software and procedures to ensure compliance with established configuration management elements
Provide technical advice in support of aircraft and AMSE spares provisioning and identification of acceptable alternates
Keep the Main Operating Base (MOB) Avionics FSRs informed with any relevant correspondence that may assist in the performance of their duties
Temporarily fill the position and duties of the other FSRs (Bagotville, Cold Lake, NDHQ) if requested by DND
When requested, will deploy anywhere in the world to support CF-18 operations
Stay current with any technical changes related to the Avionics / Electrical systems
Our ideal candidate has :
A degree in science / engineering or equivalent combination of experience
Experience with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) maintenance and operations processes and concepts
Experience with and troubleshooting military aircraft avionics and systems
A high degree of autonomy and initiative
The ability to communicate either in French or English (oral and written) on a technical subject
Will be considered assets, but not essential :
knowledge and experience with CF-18 maintenance and operations
knowledge and experience with CF-18 avionics and systems
Operational Requirements :
must be able to meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and in certain cases, ITAR requirements
must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance
must be able to work on-premises and remote based on customer’s policy
