Job summary

Amazon Shopping Videos is one of the newest and fastest growing strategic programs at Amazon. We are responsible for introducing a new experience on Amazon where customers can find product inspiration through video, learn more about products they are interested in, and interact with great creators and their communities.

We're looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager who thrives in an ambiguous environment while deliver results with a customer obsessed mindset.

Our customer facing experiences span across our mobile native app, mobile web, and desktop browsers. This role intersects engineering, product, marketing, senior leadership, and internal stakeholders.

You are the glue to the org to get the right things done for our customers while achieving our org's business objectives.

Key job responsibilities

Execute and deliver the Amazon Live program technical / engineering projects for both our retail shoppable video watching customers to inform their purchase decisions, and our creator / influencers cohort producing high value livestreams to engage our customers.

Your technical expertise lies in understanding the current architecture to deliver tactical results, while contributing to the strategic technical vision by advocating and securing bandwidth investments to innovate our product for our customers.

You understand what it takes to deliver a global customer experience and complying to local regulatory requirements to accelerate launches into a new marketplace.

You earn the trust of our partners, stakeholders, and dependency through data and align on common objectives to deliver an engaging livestream experience for our customers.

You inform our leaders and stakeholders via bi-weekly program reviews, contribute to WBRs / MBRs / QBRs, and actively participate in OP1 / OP2 planning.

To ensure we deliver the right things, you advocate for the customer by dogfooding our own experience and provide product feedback on how to evolve the product.

Finally, you keep all contributors to the program accountable for delivers and timely decision making to ensure we streamline our product development processes.

A day in the life

Assess risks during roadmap planning and weekly execution with PMs and SDMs. Own reporting mechanisms (i.e. Program Reviews) while contributing to org wide MBRs, QBRs.

Participate in OP1 and OP2 discussions to gain context on business objectives and goals we're striving towards. Own the goals update process for the team and streamline existing reporting processes to remove duplication / waste in status reporting to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Collaborating with SDMs and engineers to identify and mitigate risks / blockers to delivery and escalating in a timely manner as necessary.

Finally understand how external factors (peak events, company wide campaigns) impact our execution plans.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
  • Experience developing and executing / delivering product and technical roadmaps

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience defining KPI's / SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
