Survey Engineer / Technician

DOF Subsea Canada is a leading provider of subsea services offering integrated offshore solutions worldwide. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, client‑focused survey engineer / technician to support long‑term international and local projects. The position requires a 4 to 6 week rotation and collaboration with offshore and onshore personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain survey equipment throughout offshore operations.
• Troubleshoot faulty equipment, provide inventory listings and equipment fault reports.
• Responsible for the installation and testing of survey equipment and systems and for their maintenance.
• Set up networks and interface survey sensors to the online system.
• Familiar with serial data protocols, Ethernet communications and fibre optics.
• Makes up and terminates all types of cabling for interfacing; antennas, networks, serial data, video, subsea sensors, etc.
• Manage all survey / ROV interface cables.
• Notify the Party Chief / Project Manager of any non‑serviceable survey equipment.
• Commission, calibrate and decommission all survey equipment to the satisfaction of the Offshore Manager / Party Chief.
• Ensure safe operation of survey equipment and systems.
• Accountable for offshore tracking of project equipment and for demobilization and shipping of survey equipment.
• Support the online surveyor during operations.
• Maintain equipment logs and inventories.
• Prepare and maintain cabling and interface diagrams.
• Demonstrate good problem‑solving practices.
• Communicate, on a daily basis, with the Party Chief.
