Position Overview
To achieve the strategic objectives set for our client’s Canadian entity and successfully launch operations in the region, the Technical Director will support the Chief Regional Officer (CRO) North America in implementing the local strategy, delivering design and consulting services, strengthening partnerships, and driving business development in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure delivery of design and consulting services, including construction design for contractors.Collaborate with the USA team and coordinate overseas support as needed.Support the CRO in business development activities in Canada—from early opportunity identification to tender preparation and submission—working closely with the local team and the broader Group network.Strengthen partnerships with other design companies.Attend industry forums, professional institutions, and government agencies.Support Finance activities : elaboration of monthly project controlling, monitoring project cash flow (cash-in, receivables, cost control), ensuring project staff adhere to routine reporting of progress against targets, and advising on rectification measures.Support HR activities : definition of resource needs, identification of resources on the local market, and support in attracting new talents.Support Quality activities : implementation of quality processes to obtain required quality certificates in Canada, application of governance rules at the local level, definition of risks and mitigation measures associated with entering business partnerships, and implementation of robust project controlling procedures.Requirements
Engineering license in Canada required (P.Eng Ontario required; eligibility for registration in Quebec / Montreal considered an asset).BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical and / or Structural disciplines.Minimum 10 years related experience in technical roles on infrastructure / heavy civil engineering; underground construction works experience preferred.Good understanding of FEM modeling and structural verifications of temporary support for excavation, reinforced concrete, and steelwork.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), strong analytical capabilities, and demonstrated leadership experience.Strong technical expertise is a required prerequisite to meet the client’s leadership culture.Benefits and Opportunities
