Description
The Yard Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the inspection of incoming vehicles at the assigned Branch location. Responsibilities include vehicle check-in, digital imaging, vehicle clean-up and preservation, auction numbering/preparation, and responding to customer needs.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Experience in the equipment rental or construction industry and/or related field preferred
- Previous forklift operating experience is a plus
- Basic automotive repair skills
- Proficiency with handheld PDA
- Willingness to learn forklift operation
- Effective and supportive interaction with customers & towers
- Ability to perform light vehicle maintenance
- Capable of activities involving stooping, bending, standing, and walking for reasonable periods
- General mechanical knowledge of vehicle makes and models
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round, including climbing on large equipment and trucks
Responsibilities
- Record and file information during vehicle check-in
- Thoroughly clean vehicles to enhance auction value
- Operate passenger vehicles safely to move vehicles around the facility and during auctions
- Numbering, preparation, and setup for weekly/biweekly auctions
- Recover keys, license plates, and other objects from vehicles and store appropriately
- Assist visitors with guidance and direct them as needed
- Perform basic forklift/loader operation
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures
- Understand and follow safety and procedural documents
- Remain alert to hazards related to heavy equipment and vehicles
- Meet key performance metrics
- Willingness to learn forklift operation (may not be required at all facilities)
- Effective interaction with customers & towers
- Perform light vehicle maintenance
- Activities involving physical activity such as stooping, bending, standing, and walking
- Work in varying climates and weather conditions
- General mechanical knowledge of vehicles
- Work well as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license & ability to operate vehicles (may not be required at certain facilities)
- Apply security, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Use personal protective equipment appropriately
- Recognize and respond to unsafe situations to prevent accidents
- Follow regulations related to hazardous materials handling
- Act as a role model and support team goals (non-people management)
- Perform other tasks as needed, subject to change
- Flexible and adaptable to additional tasks
