FOOD SERVICES KITCHEN AIDE

Richmond School District operates 38 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education and a number of additional facilities. The district enrolls approximately 21,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff.
This position provides sanitation services to a school Teaching Cafeteria by ensuring the cleanliness of all dishes, equipment, utensils, laundry and work areas in the kitchen manually and / or using commercial dishwashing equipment according to established hygiene standards. This position is under the supervision of the school Administrator and receives instructions from the Teacher.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Reinforces Teacher's instructions to students and demonstrates the proper and safe usage of commercial duty dishwashing and laundry equipment.
Demonstrates the proper procedures used to clean dishes and to do laundry.
Cleans kitchen dishes, pots, utensils and equipment using commercial dishwashing equipment or by hand, and hand dries as necessary in accordance with established procedures and public health regulations.
Cleans kitchen areas such as sinks, stoves, ovens, hood vents, storage cooler and laundry equipment as required.
Assists in the clean-up of the cafeteria eating area, including clearing dishes and wiping tables.
Launders uniforms, aprons, towels and rags.
Disposes of waste material in a safe and sanitary manner.
Works with students assigned to cleaning duties.
Observes, monitors and documents student progress and reports to Teachers through communication methods such as daily journals, log books, written and verbal reports, and meetings.
Performs all duties in compliance with District and Government health and safety procedures and regulations that relate to the work performed to minimize potential for accidents, injuries or hazards.
Completion of Food Safe Program.
Performs other job related duties of comparable importance, difficulty and responsibility as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Grade 10 or equivalent.
Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling and moving materials, equipment and supplies.
Good interpersonal skills.
The salary is $24.92 per hour.
