The duties of a Database Administrator are as follows :
The role of a Database Administrator involves a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the Ministry and Division in achieving their requirements. These responsibilities encompass defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining new software applications using various languages including PowerShell. The tasks include writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. Additionally, the Database Administrator conducts research, designs, documents, and modifies software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
Furthermore, the Database Administrator is responsible for managing various systems, such as student information (MSS), library (Destiny), assessment (Edsby), and student services (Clevr). This entails tasks such as reporting, testing, training, development, and maintenance of documentation. They also retrieve and analyze data, ensure quality control, and handle communications pertaining to student information systems. The primary goal is to ensure the accuracy of records for all students. To achieve the above, an in-depth knowledge of Power BI is crucial. The Database Administrator assists the Technology Manager in fulfilling the general and specific aspects of their work and will represent the Division in an ethical, positive, and professional manner. This position works toward four strategic focus and long-term goals : Student & Family; Internal Process; People Capacity and Financial Stewardship.
