What you'll do

It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role :

  • This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of data related to the Stores Operations fiscal financials for TJX Canada (Winners, HomeSense, Marshalls). This role will leverage strong business partnerships to focus on budgets, cost management, project analysis, and providing ad hoc analysis and requests.
  • Partners with the Store Operations and Marketing departments (including Senior Leadership) to prepare forecasts and budgets, reporting and analysis related to Store and Field Expenses such as payroll, supplies, repairs, maintenance, Associate appreciation, and other discretionary expenses.
  • Collaborates with partners to identify opportunities and risks to improve decision making process and improve accuracy of forecasts / rolling plans by recommending improved processes and procedures.
  • Partners with Finance teams (i.e. Accounting, FP&A, Cash Accounting) to help report the month-End Actuals, create bridges to help explain variances, and present monthly and / or quarterly forecasts to various audiences.
  • Provides business analytics, operations reporting, rate / volume analytics for store expense lines to support operations, and explain their financial impacts.
  • Partners with regional offices and leadership to support inquiries, build budgets, forecasts, and align with Home Office partners; prepares ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Builds and supports Capital budgets for all Home Office Store Operations departments and Regional partners; reports on Capital spend in liaison with the Fixed Assets team.
  • What you'll need

    To begin your career with us, we require the following :

  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and analysis. Experience working within a retail industry is considered an asset.
  • A post-secondary education in related field (i.e. Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance / Accounting, Engineering or related quantitative disciplines). Working towards a related professional designation (i.e. CPA or MBA) is considered an asset.
  • Good working knowledgeof generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), retail and cost accounting methods with ability to develop and lead tactical initiatives with Finance leadership guidance; knowledge in statistical theory and / or Econometric type analysis considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills including analysis of information and research skills with knowledge of database design / manipulation concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. The ability to read, write, communicate, and interpret information accurately; develop and build relationships with team, internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately estimate the time required to complete projects; follow up on assignments and keep appropriate team members of progress.
  • Strong interest to pursue learning, being challenged and frequently volunteer for ad-hoc projects.
  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheet (MS Excel), MS Office Suite (i.e. SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint), accounting programs (i.e. Oracle, SAP), budgeting tools (i.e. TM1), and business intelligence software (i.e. Power Bi).
  • Salary Range : $58,910 - $82,472

  • This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
