About the BCLDB :
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention, Real Estate departments and Corporate Audit. Construction and Facilities department manages all activities related to the construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Leasing department manages all activities related to leasing of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team.
About this role :
The Corporate Loss Prevention Investigator is responsible for both reactive and proactive investigations of criminal offences, civil litigations, breaches of corporate policy and alleged breaches of provincial and federal legislation affecting the LDB employees. The position is responsible for the inventory, shrink and asset investigations which negatively impact the LDB.
The LDB serves approximately 43 million customers annually, and it is within this context the Corporate Loss Prevention Investigator functions as an integral facet of Branch operations, with a high degree of visibility throughout the organization. The investigators work within a high profile, dynamic and changing environment, and have full authority to plan, organize, and conduct complex civil and criminal investigations in all areas relating to the administration / operation of the Liquor Distribution Branch. This position is one of four positions reporting to the Manager, Investigations.
A criminal record check and a valid BC Driver's license is required.
The ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia and the ability to work outside of core hours and occasional weekend work may be required.
