Job Type : Temporary.
Initial Term : January 20 2025 for approximately 3 months, with possible extension.
Target Compensation : $30-40 per hour, with some flexibility according to experience.
Regular Work Hours : FULL TIME HOURS; 8 : 30 am to 4 : 30 pm not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday-Friday (35 work hours per week).
Work Location : Hybrid – combination of work from home and on site work at our client’s Oakville office.
Responsibilities Summary :
To provide diverse range of HR services to portfolio of internal clients, and contribute to ongoing HR department initiatives.
- Ensure the institution’s compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Lead the creation of employee engagement initiatives across the institution, monitoring the efficiency and impact within various employee groups.
- Professionally and tactfully address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, support exits and guide resolution of other sensitive matters where needed.
- Process documentation including termination letters and salary change notices in accordance with institutional policy.
- Broadly ensure a positive and inclusive workplace environment through adherence to HR best practices.
- Additional HR Generalist responsibilities as required.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in related discipline, or applicable combination of work experience and education.
Professional Credentials : CHRP or similar designation completed or in view.
Preferred Work Experience : At least 2+ years of progressive experience in HR generalist role, or similar position.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements :
Proficiency with standard MSOffice software application.Familiarity with HRIS systems.Strong HR administrative skills with a focus on creation and dissemination of HR documentation.Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Superior English communication skills, verbally and written, with excellent interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes :
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of governing acts, legislation, regulations including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other pertinent HR related legislation.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in broad HR generalist responsibilities including employee relations, performance management and guidance on HR policy adherence.Demonstrated experience with implementation and evaluation of employee engagement activities in a diverse professional environment.Demonstrated experience managing conflict, terminations and other sensitive employee issues with strong tact and professionalism. Proven ability to respond to sensitive and confidential matters with tact, discretion, and excellent judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.Highly adaptable, with demonstrated experiencing working in an environment with shifting priorities, and strong strategic thinking skills to adapt to a variety of HR priorities and responsibilities.Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders, able to achieve common goals through problem solving skills.Demonstrated successful experience of prioritizing work, making decisions and communicating with others within a values framework of respect, equity, anti-racism, diversity and inclusion.Additional Requirements :
