Position Overview
The Recreation Assistant supports the Recreation team with the planning, organization, and delivery of City events and summer programming within the community and at the Strangway Centre. The role focuses on providing exceptional recreation and leisure opportunities to the public through event facilitation, public engagement, and administrative support, requiring effective and courteous communication and the ability to multi‑task.
While primarily working out of the Strangway Centre, the assistant will also spend time in park spaces to assist Recreation Coordinators with outdoor programs and City events such as Canada Day celebrations.
Term
From May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026. Successful candidates will be expected to be available for the full duration of the term.
Mandatory Orientation
All student employees must be available to attend mandatory orientation on Monday, May 4, 2026.
