Athletics Co-ordinator

Contract - Part Time

January until June 2025

Hourly Rate : $23.00 - $27.00 / hour

Hours of work : 1 : 00 - 5 : 00 pm (Monday to Thursday)

Athletics at BSS is an integral part of the student experience, offering opportunities for students to build new skills, foster self-esteem, demonstrate sportsmanship, and develop leadership qualities and grit. The Athletics Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Athletic Director and the Junior School Athletic Director with designated administrative and coordination tasks across the school competitive and instructional athletics programs. The goal is to ensure a well-organized, inclusive, and positive experience for all student-athletes.

What You'll Do :

Assists the Athletics Directors in administrative tasks to ensure organizational & department objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner

Supports communication with Athletic Directors regarding weekly game confirmations and the upcoming week’s schedule

Supports the organization and logistics of sporting events including arrangements for coaches, referees, timekeepers, transportation and, where necessary, accommodation

Provides support to the athletic program by identifying uniforms and equipment needs; maintains a current database of uniform and equipment inventory

Ensures the Athletics Team pages are accurate and updated throughout each season as they pertain to rosters and schedules

Liaises with support staff to ensure competitive teams and instructional activities have transportation to off-campus events and venues

Organizes and distributes payments for game / tournament officials

Helps with logistics for special events (“Breakfast of Champions”, assemblies, “Seniors Night”, etc.)

Embeds diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into all processes

Working Conditions

Move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance

Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift

Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling

Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces.

Who You Are :

Administrative experience, preferably working in a sports related setting

Strong technology skills, specifically knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office

Experience working in collaborative team environments

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines

Flexibility, organization and ability to multitask
