The Human Resources Department is looking for a passionate Senior Human Resources Advisor specializing in occupational health and safety (OHS) and labor relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
- Monitor best practices in occupational health and safety, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Analyze, support, and provide recommendations to managers to enhance OHS practices tailored to their specific challenges and realities.
- Promote and coordinate prevention activities, including managing OHS committees and training activities.
- Draft and review programs, procedures, policies, and directives related to health and safety, including the prevention program.
- Plan and participate in workplace inspections and field visits to ensure a healthy, safe, and ergonomic work environment.
- Support and advise managers in accident investigation and analysis processes while managing CNESST files.
Labor Relations
Advise and assist managers in interpreting and applying collective agreements, policies, administrative procedures, and applicable laws and regulations while monitoring best practices in labor relations to ensure compliance and relevance.Represent the employer in situations requiring conflict resolution with unions or other stakeholders.Participate in collective agreement renewal negotiations.Develop tailored solutions for conflict situations and propose strategic approaches to maintain a harmonious work environment.Attend various meetings and employer committees to address issues arising from collective agreement rules and administrative procedures, including labor relations and grievance resolution committees.Although the primary focus of this role is on OHS and labor relations, the successful candidate will also act as an HR generalist. This includes supporting managers with their daily challenges and contributing to organizational development and the implementation of strategic processes.
QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE
Hold a university undergraduate degree (bachelor’s) in a relevant field.Possess a university certificate in occupational health and safety (asset).Have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent knowledge of labor laws and OHS regulations.Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)Knowledge of the municipal sector (asset).Experience in a unionized environment (asset).Member in good standing of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés du Québec (asset).Knowledge of English is a requirement due to possible interactions with the Town’s residentsCONDITIONS AND BENEFITS
