There is a temporary full-time (1.0) opening for an Educational Assistant at Anne Hathaway Public School from September 2, 2024 until February 5, 2025 :
Depending upon school / program needs, duties will vary from site to site and may include :
Physical and behaviourial supports in self-contained, integrated or resource-withdrawal settings. Flexibility is required as assignments may vary from working with students who may require varying degrees of physical, behavioural and / or academic support.
The assignment may change from one setting to another as the school needs change; and,
other duties as required.
The ideal candidates will possess :
- The ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, including but not limited to, lifting, toileting and transferring students and supporting associated mobility equipment;
- Proven successful experience in providing consistent daily support for students with behavioural, physical and developmental supports;
- Expertise implementing effective behaviour management strategies and the ability to be flexible to support students with multiple needs;
- Demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively as part of the school team;
- The ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and professional skills;
- Understanding and commitment to confidentiality;
- Minimum one year college level certificate or diploma in the educational assistant or related field, and equivalent experience; and,
- Current BMS certification.
Rate of Pay : Level 4 of ESSP Collective Agreement
Hours of Work : 35 Hours per week, 10 months per year
