About the Opportunity

This position is responsible for evidence-gathering, evaluation, planning, and knowledge translation initiatives within Public Health for the purposes of accountability, decision-making, and quality improvement. The Planning and Evaluation Consultant contributes to program decision-making that impacts project implementation and improvement. The position contributes to a culture of evaluation and evidence-informed decision making through the development and implementation of evaluation frameworks, data collection tools, standardized processes, and capacity building initiatives for staff related to planning and evaluation.

This position reports to the Planning and Evaluation Lead and is part of the Planning Quality & System Performance team within Strategic Policy & Planning, Public Health.  This position generally works at a provincial level to provide planning and evaluation support for the Public Health Focus Areas and Public Health overall.  This will include writing evaluation reports and presenting findings to senior leadership.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following :

  • Masters degree in program evaluation, public health, health administration, social sciences, or community health, with an emphasis on program planning and evaluation.
  • Minimum three years of experience in planning, evaluation, quality improvement, or social science research.
  • Preference may be given to those with, or in the process of attaining the Canadian Evaluation Society's Credentialed Evaluator designation.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities aligned with the Canadian Evaluation Society Evaluator Competencies
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing evaluation initiatives
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including government partners, organizational colleagues, and community groups
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of methodologies related to research and evaluation, systematic literature reviews, and environmental scans
  • Very strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, synthesis, interpretation skills
  • Experience developing knowledge translation products
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Experience in public health is preferred
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

  • Permanent Full Time Position (75 hours bi-weekly)

    37.60 - $47.01 Hourly
