We are currently a helping an agency with offices in Canada and the United States with their search for a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial reporting and compliance, managing financial operations, and ensuring accurate and timely financial information for the organization. The Finance Manager participates in agency planning, providing strategic recommendations to management for the company’s growth and all financial decisions.
You will work with Operations on business solutions for all finance issues and work with external accountants to ensure compliance with cross-border regulations and complexities.
This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities
Reporting and Compliance :
- Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plans.
- Monitor the financial performance of the company and provide insights to the leadership team.
- Compile and analyze financial reporting packages.
- Prepare operating budgets and monitor actual performance against budget.
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures.
- Communicate financial metrics to the leadership team regularly.
- Prepare various weekly and monthly reports, such as Revenue Forecast, Utilization Reports, and Cashflow projections.
- Lead Year End activities and provide supporting documents to external accountants.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings for Canada and US, in consultation with external accountants.
- Work with external financial partners, including banking, accounting, and legal partners, to ensure accurate and up-to-date reporting.
Management :
Supervise Intermediate Accountant performing AP and Payroll duties.Oversee Accounts Payable and approve payments.Oversee payroll and employee benefits administration, including health benefits and RRSP (Canada) enrollment and remittances, and related payroll tax filing.Serve as an expert / administrator for the Workamajig software system, ensuring a clear understanding of how transactions flow through financial statements.Transactions :
Manage Accounts Receivable and Invoicing processes, including taking appropriate actions to escalate payments when required.Handle payroll and benefits administration, and related tax filings for the US company.Ensure all journal entries are properly recorded and provide weekly, monthly, and annual status reports to management, highlighting potential issues.Reconcile balance sheet accounts for all companies.Calculate and process commissions accurately and ensure timely payments.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferably a CPA or working towards getting the designation.Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar financial management role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in financial software and systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.If you are an adaptable, conscientious, hands-on, and value-driven individual with a strong background in financial management, we would love to hear from you.
