About the Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accountant / Bookkeeper will play a key role in managing full-cycle accounting operations and ensuring the financial health of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a background in construction who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Migrate accounting systems to Sage and ensure a seamless transition.
- Prepare and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Handle HST filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Support financial reporting and analysis as required by the Financial Controller.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and financial tracking.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within the construction or real estate development industry.Proficiency in full-cycle accounting processes.Experience with accounting software migrations (Sage experience is strongly preferred).Solid understanding of HST and tax compliance regulations.Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
