Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable FinOps Consultant to review assess and define Cloud Financial Management strategies for our organization This role will focus on optimizing cloud spending implementing effective tagging strategies and developing comprehensive reporting frameworks The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud finance and cost optimization

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Financial Management Assessment

  • Review and analyze current cloud financial management practices and identify areas for improvement
  • Define and implement a robust Cloud Financial Management framework tailored to organizational needs

Tagging Strategy Development

  • Establish a tagging strategy to enhance visibility and accountability of cloud resources
  • Ensure compliance with tagging standards across all cloud services
  • Recommendations for Reserved Instances RI

  • Analyze cloud usage patterns and recommend appropriate Reserved Instances to optimize costs
  • Provide guidance on purchasing strategies for RIs based on projected usage
  • Reporting and KPIs

  • Develop standard reports and key performance indicators KPIs to track cloud spending and resource utilization
  • Suggest chargeback and showback reporting mechanisms to promote accountability among teams
  • Goal Definition

  • Define shortterm and longterm financial goals related to cloud consumption and cost management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial objectives with business strategies
  • Cost Optimization Planning

  • Assess cloud consumption patterns and identify opportunities for cost optimization
  • Develop and implement a cost optimization plan that includes actionable recommendations
  • Requirements

    Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in financial management in cloud environment
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing cloud financial strategies
  • He should have experience in using Azure and AWS native Cost Optimization tools like AWS Cost explorer Standard reports etc
  • Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms eg AWS Azure Google Cloud and their financial management tools
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and reporting tools
  • Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
