Faculty Position in History Corpus Christi College Nov 26 Vancouver, British Columbia

Corpus Christi College invites applications for a five-year full time (1.0) faculty position in History at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is designed as a 5-year renewable appointment and will begin on August 1, 2026. Corpus Christi College does not have a tenure system, but candidates who successfully complete their first term will be considered for a continuing appointment. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in History or be close to completion at the time of appointment.

We seek an outstanding and enthusiastic teacher and colleague with demonstrated excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship. While this is an open field competition, we especially welcome applicants with experience and interest in teaching in two or more of the following areas: Medieval History, European & British History, Canadian history, Indigenous peoples’ history, Asian history, art history and Church history. The successful candidate will carry a teaching load of six courses and contribute to Corpus Christi College’s programming for the Associate of Arts degree, as well as the development of a new Bachelor of Arts degree. There will also be opportunities to teach courses for St. Mark’s College’s Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Culture and graduate programs. Beyond teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to perform service and administrative responsibilities in support of the College and maintain an active research profile that is appropriate to the high levels of teaching and service that are required at the College.

The salary for the Assistant Professor position is based on qualifications, experience, and institutional pay guidelines. The full-time salary range for an Assistant Professor is $72,000 to $93,944. The successful candidate will be eligible for enrollment in the Colleges’ extended medical and dental plan, as well as the employer-matched pension plan.
