Job description

What you will do :

The incumbent will develop curriculum, design / revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, teach and assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations. The incumbent(s) may also be responsible for assisting with program promotion; developing and maintaining strong links with professional associations and practice settings; supervising work integrated learning mandatory professional practicum clinical placement activities; academic advising students; participating on Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness and Humber committees.

Qualifications

What you bring to the role :

Education

Minimum graduate degree in Nursing - PhD in nursing or working towards obtaining a PhD.

  • Must be a Registered Nurse and member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario

Experience and Skills

  • Superior interpersonal communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills and have demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development.
  • A student-focused approach utilizing engaging and effective teaching skills, with demonstrated ability to coach and support students while managing classroom dynamics.
  • Strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture.
  • Additional qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to team and inter / intraprofessional collaboration within a scholarly community and a primary health care philosophy.
