- Responsible for 4-20 direct reports including career management, productivity measurement, conflict management.
- Coaching and mentoring Quality Assurance staff on your team.
- Conducting regular 1 on 1’s, goal setting / tracking and performance assessments.
- Ensure administrative processes are followed.
- Process management. Ensure that the teams are following JSI processes, including addressing tasks in priority order.
- Act as the escalation point for inter-team communication problems.
- As part of the management team, work to ensure that releases are on time and of high quality, that support requests are addressed as a top priority and that transparency to the rest of JSI is maintained.
- As part of the management team, work to continually improve processes and efficiency.
- Advocate for Software Quality within the Engineering department.
- Monitor software architecture associated with teams, watching for building technical debt and improvement opportunities, keeping an eye on the future.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent job experience.
- Experience creating test cases and test plans to cover explicit and implicit requirements.
- Knowledge of testing methods and principles.
- Familiarity with software development best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Team player Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Eager to learn both as part of a team and self-directed learning.
- Ability to attain and maintain a top-secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing, leading, coaching, and mentoring individuals and teams.
- Ability to enable your team to carry out delegated responsibilities and tasks effectively.
- Ability to manage several initiatives concurrently.
- Thorough grasp of all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- 5+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Comfortable working effectively with customers, senior executives, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Broad technical knowledge and ability to pick up a strategic understanding of new technologies.
