Job description

Job Title- Project Manager (IT) – Senior

Duration- 6 Months contract with possible extension

Location- Edmonton, AB (Remote)

Job Description-

The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following :

  • University graduation in business, management or related discipline, and four years of Project Management (PM) experience; OR

Two-year diploma in business, management or related discipline and six years of PM experience; OR

One year certificate in business, management or related discipline and seven years of PM experience; OR

Eight years of PM experience Yes / No

  • Experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders- 8 years
  • Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures- 4 years
  • Experience in a project management role- 8 years
  • Experience in planning, designing, implementing and supporting platform solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta- 4 years
  • Currently active PMP or PGMP Certification as issued by the Project Management Institute or equivalent (attach a copy of the certificate) Yes / No
  • Demonstrated experience in executive stakeholder relationship management and engagement (i.e. determining the needs of senior stakeholders and understanding business priorities and pressures)- 4 years
  • Experience creating and managing project forecast and actual budgets- 4 years
  • Experience exercising resourcefulness when making recommendations on highly technical or complex business issues without formal guidelines or precedents- 4 years
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and communicating with senior management and project stakeholders- 4 years
  • Experience in managing a Complex HRIS project(s) adhering to the legislated policy and guidelines within Public Sector- 4 years
  • Experience leading custom software application development projects following a formal project life cycle methodology- 4 years
  • Experience working in or for the public sector - 4 years
  • Senior leadership experience working in the public sector (ideally Canada) with a sound knowledge of its stakeholders, business functions and informational requirements- 4 years
  • Experience successfully implementing IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations- 4 years
