Why work with us : The Family Centre (TFC) is recruiting a Cree ( nêhiyaw ) Knowledge Holder who is interested in sharing Ceremony and Indigenous knowledge and practice to support the children, youth, families and communities that we work with.  We are focused on Trauma-Informed Care for both our communities and staff teams, and provide services based on research and evidence-based practices. Our culture is focused on providing a safe and supportive workplace including paid training, excellent benefits, a wellness program, and much more.    What you will be doing : Providing training, teaching and experiential opportunities based in ceremony that support the transition from trauma-informed practice to ceremony-informed healing Sharing teachings that are specific to ceremony, turtle lodge teachings, circle process and relational accountability Offering ceremony on a regular basis to support service providers and the children, youth and families that they serve, such as teachings on smudge, hosting sweats, pipe ceremonies, ceremonial feasts, etc.  Providing land-based teaching opportunities such as Tipi Teachings, medicine picking, and feast teachings to the children, youth and families that we serve  Supporting the development of service provider capacity to ensure their ability to provide services in a culturally meaningful manner Providing continual coaching and guidance on protocol, how to approach Elders, and being a mentor or guide in ceremony   What you bring to the role : Must be actively involved in, and committed to Indigenous ways of being, ceremony and practice Experience and knowledge from a Cree ( nêhiyaw ) perspective regarding Ceremonies and teachings  Experience working in the community with service users and service providers Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary and collaborative team Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours Experience working with Children and Family Services is an asset  Experience working with people from diverse cultures Requires knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively support people impacted by trauma, through a trauma informed lens   Background Check Process & Requirements : As part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks. Police Information Check - Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months)  Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months) $2 million Vehicle Liability Insurance   Reliable Vehicle that is available for regular use, a valid driver’s license  Our Children Are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Training or ASIST Suicide Intervention Training within 3 months of start date  Standard First Aid Level C CPR within 3 months of start date   What you can expect : Training – comprehensive onboarding / orientation process which includes service specific, leading-edge training, and agency-wide core training Feedback – a strong reflective supervision model that provides regular formal and informal opportunities for feedback  Performance Coachin g – formal and informal coaching regarding the development of personal and professional growth and development Reasonable Accommodation – The Family Centre will provide reasonable accommodation when requested by a qualifies applicant or employee Compensation - Our comprehensive compensation package offered to employees reflects a strong commitment to employee wellbeing and is competitive within the marketplace.   $59,238 to $79,221 annually  36.5 hour work week  Fully paid Group Benefit Plan  Wellness Program 3 weeks’ vacation  RRSP matching  Ongoing paid training Mileage compensation  Paid sick time Agency-wide social events First People’s Circle, People of Colour, and LBGTQ2IAS+ Employee Support Groups   Closing Date : Until filled The Family Centre thanks all applicants in advance.
