Business Intelligence Specialist

MUST HAVES:

Description

Responsibilities:

• 50% of time on CYMH BI Enhancements
• 50% of time on Intellihealth Enhancements
• Assignment Type: This position is listed as Onsite; the resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day between the standard working hours of 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified OPS office location.
• Extension/Amendment Attestation:
• Extensions are permitted only to the extent of unused contract days and/or remaining contract funds. No additional funds will be added beyond the maximum contract value, including any extension options set out in the original SOW.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Public Sector Experience - 5 points

• 3 years public sector/healthcare experience

Business Intelligence skills - 45 points

• Experience in design and development of Data Marts or Data Warehouses on a wide range of data repositories (relational and multi-dimensional data stores)
• Experience in Cognos Analytics reporting; modeling with Framework Manager, Transformer, Dynamic Cube Designer, Data Module, Dataset, SDK; implementing point-in-time architecture; testing with Life Cycle Manager (5+ years)
• Excellent requirements analysis skills
• Demonstrated experience in working with Power Designer Tool to design logical and physical models, generating scripts and applying model changes.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with Cognos report development in Cognos Analytics and Administration v12.x (reporting, dashboarding, embedded JavaScript, embedded SQL)
• Knowledge of BI architecture patterns, best practices, processes, and artefacts
• Experience developing Cognos reports in the IBM Cloud Pak for Data environment

Business Analysis Skills - 30 points

• Strong experience of working with business team to identify and gather requirements for Business Intelligence enhancements or defect fix items
• Experience in performing deep-dive data analysis to resolve data issues and answer questions from business
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills

Data Analysis Skills - 20 points

• Strong quantitative analysis skills, experience with data mining on large and complicated data assets
• Proficiency with MS Excel and pivot tables/charts and Python scripting.
