Our Environmental Services Group (ESG) provides our clients with expertise in climate change, environmental assessment & management, noise & vibration, social impact management, sustainable development design, and water resources. With your help, we can build extraordinary things that co‑exist and benefit local communities and habitats.

We are seeking an Environmental Analyst, Scientist or Planner to join our team of talented environmental professionals in our St. John’s, NL office. Hatch’s Environment, People and Places (EP&P) Group focuses on providing our clients with solutions to their environmental and social challenges. The group works directly with clients or in collaboration with other service areas within Hatch, in developing new business opportunities.

The successful applicant will support the team in a diverse range of environmental and social management matters including baseline studies, environmental and social impact assessment, permitting and approval applications, undertaking of audits and development of environmental management systems, predominantly within the infrastructure, natural resources, mining, power and energy sectors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or equivalent in a related discipline;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience;
• Experience in the application of natural heritage policies, protocols and environmental legislation;
• Environmental and social impact assessment process experience;
• Knowledge of environmental and social due diligence is an asset;
• Flexibility to travel periodically;
• Knowledge of French is an advantage.
