We believe that social wellness and recreation are essential components of senior living, and we are seeking a passionate Recreation Coordinator to help us bring our vision to life.
As a Recreation Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering programs that promote the independence, well-being, and engagement of residents across our Independent and Assisted Living communities. This is a multi-site position, and flexibility is key as programming and resident needs may vary between locations.
What You’ll Do
- Implement established recreation programs, including outings, social events, games, crafts, entertainment, and other activities.
- Deliver therapeutic recreation programs for Assisted Living residents, such as music therapy, art therapy, and sensory stimulation.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of Resident Social & Wellness profiles.
- Support the admission and orientation of new residents and assist them during activities.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ behavior or social wellness to management.
- Ensure recreational equipment and supplies are maintained, stored safely, and ready for use.
- Participate in team meetings, in-services, and committees, collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and families.
- Provide guidance and support for volunteer programs and ensure a resident-centered, safe, and engaging environment.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, or Gerontology.1–3 years of experience as a Recreation Coordinator in seniors’ living / care.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to treat residents with respect, dignity, and care, while resolving sensitive issues professionally.Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.A flexible, energetic, compassionate, and motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.Provincial bus driver’s license (Class IV) is required.Why Join Us
