Summary :
Established in 1989, AFD Petroleum is an independent supplier of bulk fuel, lubricants, and on-site storage tanks and systems to customers across western Canada and Alaska.
Our Nisku Tanks division manages tanks from 1000L to 80,000L with setups unique to every customer.
Reporting to the Service Manager the Welder plays a key role in the maintenance, repair, and modifications needed for AFD Petroleum to provide a quality product to our customers.
This will involve welding, fabricating, and any other tasks required to deliver our tanks as our customers have requested.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Participate in AFD Petroleum’s Safety Program including worksite inspections & promote safe work practices.
- Safely and efficiently complete all fabrication and welding tasks as assigned.
- Regular repairs and maintenance of the fuel tanks and equipment coming into the shop.
- Housekeeping activities to maintain a safe work environment within the Shop and yard.
- General labor items like painting, decal removal, fuel transfers and cleaning.
- Working with shop technicians, electricians and other trades as required.
- Operating wheel loader / forklift / overhead cranes
Required Experience / Skills / Education :
- Valid provincial Journeyman Certification in Welding.
- 3+ years’ experience in a shop / field environment welding and fabricating.
- Mechanically inclined person who enjoys a variety of tasks and is willing to learn.
- Strong verbal / written communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read drawing, layouts and follow work order instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Clean Driving record
- Professional Attitude
- This is a physical job, so you must be able to lift / move up to 50 pounds.
Your Schedule :
Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday schedule, 8AM-5PM, occasional overtime.
