Serving the Saanich Peninsula located just north of Victoria BC the district has one of the highest graduation rates in the province and a student body that consistently scores well on annual assessment tests thanks in large part to the dedication and efforts of our 900 teaching and support staff.

Position - Temporary Teacher

Assignment Type - Temporary to the return of the incumbent

FTE / Point Time - 0.399 Point Time

Online Learning qualifications required. This Indigenous Teacher Support position will involve supporting Indigenous students at all grade levels (K-12) both in person and at a distance. Exact schedule to be determined with the successful applicant.

Qualifications

• A valid BC Teaching Certificate
• Commitment to support the full range of student abilities
• Effective communication skills with students parents and colleagues
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Successful experience with adapting and modifying materials for a diversity of learners
• Working knowledge of using computing technology to support learning
• A commitment to the Principles of Inclusive Schools and Principles of Learning

Specific to this posting :

Applicants who have not demonstrated education or experience in online teaching will be responsible for completing a 100-hour preparatory online course (teaching and learning online and building DL environments) that is recommended by SIDES.
