We are presently accepting resumes for a number of Full-Time Support Worker I positions. These positions will be assigned to work in our group homes in Orillia, working up to 72 hours biweekly.

Compensation Package :

  • Hours of work are 8 : 00am - 8 : 00pm, 12-hour shifts for a total of 72 hours biweekly ;
  • Minimum starting rate of pay is $24.80
  • 11 paid Statutory Holidays;

Following the successful completion of probation :

  • Employer paid life insurance, health, and dental benefits;
  • Employer paid vacation, personal leave, and sick time;
  • Participation in RRSP with employer match up to 4%;
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Personal Support Worker diploma or an acceptable educational equivalency (Developmental Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Nursing, Psychology, etc.) as determined by the employer is required;
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain their Developmental Service Worker diploma or equivalent within 5 calendar years;
  • 6 months of direct related experience in the Developmental Services sector;
  • Candidates who have a completed Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people;

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays;
  • Ability to attend team meetings and training as required during daytime hours;
  • A valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is required;
  • Role / Duties :

    Our Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities include providing support with personal care, household duties, meal preparation and finances. You may also support people to appointments or events to foster connections within the community.
