Accounting Technician

Work location: Montreal North, QC – On site

Salary: $55,000 to $65,000

Position type: Permanent

We are recruiting for a well-established company in the specialized distribution sector within the construction industry, offering a dynamic and structured work environment in Montréal-Nord. The company values professionalism, rigor, and high-quality service for its clients.

Main responsibilities:

• Enter routine transactions into accounting software.
• Perform bank reconciliations and account follow-ups.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting entries.
• Record and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Verify supplier statements and manage payments.
• Participation to collection activities.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, managing emails, and answering phone calls.
• Prepare tax returns and income declarations.
• Prepare payroll documents.
• Carry out any other accounting-related tasks as required.

Terms and benefits:

• On-site, 40 hours per week (possibility to work in a 4-day week).
• Potential for discretionary bonus.
• Closed for 2 weeks in summer and 2 weeks during the holiday season (aligns with the construction industry’s vacation schedule).

Skills and qualifications :

• DEC in Administration or Accounting, or equivalent education.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Acomba.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, with excellent time and priority management.
• Autonomous, proactive, and able to support colleagues while respecting deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all accounting-related tasks.
